I’ve finally made some headway in catching up on my class. I managed to do four lessons in a short amount of time. I didn’t rush, they simply went fast for me. I’m on lesson 13, (of 17 released lessons). It’s lengthy, the longest so far but I don’t think it will take me very long. The next lesson concerns me more. Since I am writing a trilogy some parts of the class will take me longer to finish than some of the other students and fourteen seems like it will. Fifteen and sixteen I’m unsure about. They seem to be quick ones but I won’t know until I get there.
As for actual writing, I’ve gotten a few scenes out but a new project idea has intruded. I wrote some notes for it but apparently my muse wants to play in this new story right now! I don’t want to stifle my creativity but I’m trying my best to stay focused on one project at a time. However, if this new thing ends up being a short story I might run with it. I’ve found that writing a shorter piece doesn’t really interfere with longer stories. In fact, when I get frustrated with my WIP I find it helpful to divert myself with something new, as long as it’s not a new novel.
Additionally, when I am unable to sit at the computer for very long it’s nice to have something else to work on. With short stories and flash fiction I have a habit of writing them with pen and paper before polishing up with the computer.
Speaking of not being able to sit at my desk for a while, I’m doing about the same with my back problems as I previously was. Today I’ll go to my second physical therapy session. I’ll be going twice a week for at least a month.I have no idea if this will help or not, but I’m hopeful.
I’ve been handed off to a pain management doctor, who I won’t see until the middle of next month. This new doctor will explain the MRI results to me. I downloaded a copy of the results but I only have Google to explain it to me and that’s probably not the wisest thing.
There were six items listed in the findings. Most of these could be interpreted many ways but three were clear as day. Degenerative disc disease, disc bulge and there is a fissure/tear. The other things I looked up basically told me each thing wrong causes pain, but clearly I already knew this.
That’s about it for me. Hopefully by next week I’ll have more writing related things to report.
